Juicing for Healthy Hormones

Here's some foods that can promote healthy hormone functioning.

For Women:

Swiss Chard, Spinach, Pumpkin Seeds, Cashews, Almonds, Non-rBGH/rBST Plain Greek Yogurt (Organic) & Tahini (Sesame Seed Paste)

Swiss Chard, Spinach, Pumpkin Seeds, Cashews, & Almonds all contains high levels of magnesium, which can boost dopamine production in the brain & helps the body process estrogen. Women experiencing premenstrual or menopausal mood swings are often magnesium deficient. Eating a "diet" rich in these foods helps balance moods and relieve cramps and bloating. Non-rBGH/rBST Plain Greek Yogurt (Organic) & Tahini (Sesame Seed Paste), these foods are rich in calcium, which has been shown to prevent PMS symptoms and reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis in menopausal women. The dips in estrogen that occur in menopause drain calcium reserves in the body, it is very important that menopausal women take enough of this mineral to avoid bone problems. rBGH and rBST are growth hormones injected in cattle that change the chemical make-up of dairy products. These hormones mimic estrogen when ingested and can interfere with the menstrual cycle and weaken fertility. *If you still eat dairy products only purchase rBGH & rBST free products.

For Men:

Tomatoes, Watermelons, Grapefruits (I don't eat grapefruit because they're a grafted fruit) Pumpkins Seeds, Spinach, Sunflower Seeds, Hazelnuts, Dark Leafy Greens (Chard, Kale & Spinach) & Sweet Potatoes

Tomatoes, Watermelons, Grapefruits, these fruits contain large quantities of lycopene, which is an antioxidant known to protect against prostate cancer. Pumpkins Seeds, Spinach, Sunflower Seeds, these foods contain high levels of zinc, a mineral known to boost immunity, especially in the prostate region. Zinc is also known to raise testosterone levels in men, which improves the sex drive. Watermelon is also considered "The Natural Viagra" which has the amino acid called citrulline, which relaxes and dilates blood vessels much like Viagra and other drugs meant to treat erectile dysfunction. The best part is the rind of the watermelon. Hazelnuts, Dark Leafy Greens (Chard, Kale & Spinach) & Sweet Potatoes, all contain large amounts of various B-Vitamins, which are known to boost testosterone levels.

Favorite Juicers include Blendtec and Vitamix
